However, he denied a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a young boy.

'Sweet game'

The legal representative, handling the case, described the criminal behavior to the judicial body.

She said his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer camp which he ran.

The defendant played a "sweet game" with the youngsters, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were settling down and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".

She stated to the judge Ruben had conducted this practice with the children "repeatedly", and youngsters had previously become sick the subsequent day.

She stated the defendant had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepchild had suspicions in summer 2025.

The prosecutor stated further: "In the summer" his stepson had worries about the situation, justifiably.

"They resolved" to investigate in the defendant's belongings."

The legal counsel explained materials including infant oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were discovered, and his stepchild notified the authorities about his concerns.

She stated the defendant went on to conduct the "candy game" with six children that time - July 26th - and they were all ill the subsequent day.

"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that time," she added.

The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.

Mrs Prior explained the youngsters were having difficulty walking due to their condition, so the stepson notified the law enforcement again.

She explained Ruben then played the "treat game" in a space of five minors.
